And her last name is Jackson

I think I liked Victoria Jackson a lot better when she played bimbos and stereotypical dumb blondes during her heyday on "Saturday Night Live."

The roles have changed a tad in recent years. Now she's playing the role of someone who's a neocon nutjob. See for yourself:

So, wake up people!! Don't let our new administration "CHANGE" our free country to a communist state. Don't let this new administration "CHANGE" our Constitution and take away our rights. Obama wants to destroy the 2nd Amendment, the right to "bear arms." gunbanobama.com He also wants to give more rights to criminals who break into your home. Unbelievable!
Indeed.

I think mass abstinence programs are a joke mainly because they seemed to be treat sex like drugs and alcohol.

Sex is natural, if you kept a baby boy and baby girl separately in isolation didn't school them and sustained them with nothing more than food, shelter and oxygen until they were 18, and then introduced them and left them alone, it wouldn't be 30 minutes before they were getting it on.

Not so much for drugs or alcohol. So while I applaud the groups for their efforts, as long as they teach sex, like alcholo and drugs then it won't work. If you talk about it in the context of choice, where kids aren't presented with a false dichotomy then it may work, until then good luck.

Of course, these groups aren't really concerned with abstinence, they are concerned with PERCEIVED RIGHTOUSNESS, even while willingly engaging in their own indiscretions, over and over and over again.

Thanks for stopping by, Ryan.

And I'm going to co-sign on this with you. We have a responsiblity to give kids all the facts, be honest with them about the stakes of having sex before they're mature enough to handle the consequences.

Some of these "virginity pledge" programs simply don't want to acknowledge the obvious: despite all of our best intentions, most of us are hypocrites when it comes to sex. Especially kids.

At the least, let's teach them how to put on a condom, maybe get a prescription for birth control and encourage them to wait until they're ready.

But you're right: these groups don't care if the programs work or not because, as Atrios said earlier this week, "they're interested in making sure 'bad girls' get punished for having sex by being subject to the appropriate consequences."

So it actually, the program works as designed.

I saw her on a show a couple months ago, it might have been O'Reilly, with Victoria Jackson and Janine Turner representing conservatives in Hollywood. Janine was very articulate in presenting a conservative viewpoint, Victoria however, was an embarrassment

I saw Janine on Larry King once and she didn't do quite as well. But that could be because, in general, we're on opposite sides of the issues that I care about.

Regardless, I'll always have a crush on Maggie McConnell. Also helps that she's a Texan too.
