Squeaky's Hall of Shame

By way of the great Roger Ebert, I indulged my curiosity and bounced over to Bill O'Reilly's Hall of Shame. And what did I find?

A bright spot in a really shitty week for journalists: my employer, the St. Petersburg Times, tops the list of the "shamed" media outlets.

If being on that list is wrong (left), I don't want to be right.

And it should go without saying, but please read Ebert's classic takedown of "Squeaky the Chicago Mouse" if you already haven't.

Ebert FTW!

I love the Conrad Black part. When someone says that a guy serving a stretch for fraud has better skills than you, it may be time to pack it in. Maybe.

Absolutely. Thumbs up on that one.

O'Reilly is a joke. Thing is, it's hard to argue with someone who doesn't care.

When I hear people bitch about O'Reilly/Hannity/Savage et al, I want to tell them that old Chris Rock joke about why you shouldn't argue with your woman, which I don't think necessarily applies to women, but does apply to the wingnut talking heads: "You can't argue with your woman...You're in it to make sense. A woman ain't goin' to let something like sense fuck up her argument. She's in it for distance and irritation."
