Charlie Murphy is absolutely hilarious. I think at this point in their careers, he is much funnier than his more famous sibling Eddie.
Max, you bring up a point that I've been kicking around for years ... at what point did Charlie surpass Eddie?
At one point in his career, Eddie Murphy openly mocked Bill Cosby for resorting to the sort of family-friendly fare that helps Murphy pay his child support these days. He's almost literally been de-fanged.
I don't truly think Charlie is more funny as a comedian. But his sense of humor seems to have survived the growth and maturity process much better than his younger brother.
Okay, okay. I see your point. But I think Charlie is more naturally funny. That is he has the talent to make the absolutely mundane hilarious. Certainly, this is a talent all comedians possess, but Charlie seems effortless in doing this.
I'm almost shame to say this, but Charlie has a special spook-like quality about him that is almost vaudevillian.
