Equality is soooo gay

This impassioned plea from Ellen comes via Andrew Sullivan. One line, in particular, really struck me:

Maybe it's because I'm gay but I think all people should be equal

For the moment, it looks like proposals for gay marriage bans are gaining wide-ranging support in California and Florida, a couple of states that should know better. I don't think history will be kind to our generation for not pushing back more forcefully against civil inequality of this kind.
