In case you missed it while wondering whether or not Barack Obama is arrogant, The House apologized for slavery and the Jim Crow era on Tuesday.

That's all well and good, I suppose. It's probably too late to claim my 40 acres and a mule. And I'm not all that sold on the idea of actual reparations.

How about this: Let's rollback some of those mandatory minimums, come up with a solution other than jail time for small-time drug offenders and work on developing a plan for universal health care.

That doesn't quite make things even. But it's a start.
