Not fulfilling the dream

UBM titled this YouTube video: What Sasha and Malia won't be doing in 10 years.

I was thinking of something more along the lines of "Fulfilling my teenage dreams." It should go without saying - just from the screen grab - that this is NSFW.

Want to read something really sad? Here's one of the comments: "I wanna b 1 of yall so bad. I admire all of yu." That's, in short, the definition of not fulfilling the dream.

I mean, on the one hand, damn. On the other, well, damn.

This sort of ability is fine in the bedroom, but it don't pay bills unless you work at Magic City.

Who was it that said "Being cute is not an occupation?"

I like that, "being cute is not an occupation." Lol.

But yeah, these are some definite prospects for Magic City or Onyx or Strokers or ... yeah yeah yeah. You know what I mean.

It was stuff like this that had me wanting to go to Freaknik or the Kappa Beach Party back in the day.

Freaknik. It was a dream I could never make a reality. By the time I got to college, they were caliing it "Weaknik."

Tell me about it. Freaknik was in its final, daying days by the time I got to college in '96. Even the people I knew who went to school in Atlanta were leaving town when the show really got started.

And in retrospect, it makes sense. Why would any woman really want to go to something like that?

Unless she was auditioning to be a member of the Twerk Team?

TWERK TEAM ASSEMBLE!! ..emphasis on ass.

too bad i think they're under age. and i pray to God that my daughter doesn't wind up doing anything like this -- on OR off video.

See ... I was wondering about that. I think they're youngish, kinda of college aged.

I'm sure they're mighty popular on their block, in their dorm, at the club, etc.

But yeah, God help me if I have a daughter who ever gets into some foolishness like this.

I like men and even I had to say - dayum a few times. lol. Followed by a slow motion - what...the...kcuf?

But I don't think they are legal. They look like high school kids which is sad. But hey, they always have a spot on R Kelly's tour until they reach 21...or is it 18? lol

blackink said...

Bougie, it depends on what you mean by teenager. Like, 19?

Bougie Applebum said...

Naw - to me they look like they are around 16. 17 at the most. But I'm sure they have a few I.D.s that read "19". But who knows....

Bougie, they did NOT make 'em like that when I was 16. Not that I would have known how to talk to any of these young ladies at that age. My hottest line would not have impressed them.

JT, i always say that too, but i'm thinkin there probably were a few twerk teamers when we were 16, but old heads were already scoopin them up.

plus, there was no real forum for young jawns to act this wild in public. i'm thinkin we might have heard somethin about it, but the source might have been just as suspect as the alleged behavior.

As someone who passes Strokers on the drive home and occasionally buys hair products from a beauty supply store in the same shopping plaza (how smart a location is that?) I can testify that being cute is a productive occupation for these women, just not one with a lot of longevity!

@Ave: I'm thinking you're right. We probably went to school and parties and malls with all sorts of Twerk Teamers. The difference is, there was no real way to air their talents to the public. Today, YouTube and/or MySpace can make almost anyone semi-famous.

@Kia: The only thing missing from that shopping plaza is, like, a lingerie shop and a Body Shop or something. Then it's definitely one-stop shopping for the Strokers employees.

I called up my ghetto cousin in Stone Mountain (don't ask), and according to him these young ladies do appearances and "private parties." I'm not sure what to think about this.
